Well, George and Dan, I don’t have my type assignment up yet, but hope to by tomorrow noon-ish, si dios quiere. In the meantime, I think I have such a collossally messy portfolio page that it should provide you with plenty of options to offer suggestions for improvement. I dare you to untangle what I have done!!!

Folks,
What I have is up. Unfortunately I still can’t upload from Dreamweaver, and the only way I could figure to get my type assignment up was to take down my portfolio page.
Not all the elements are here. Am missing: line length, leading, pull-quote and rule. I might be able to get to that, but now I’m at the fearful stage of ruining everything.

Rachel,
From what I have looked at, your page isn’t ruined at all! I understand that there are a few things to be worked out, but here are some of my observations:
-Is there a purpose to your color theme? The colors do not seem to be complimentary, and are quite jarring to the eye.
-The organization of your text boxes is great: especially how the main body is lowered, leading the eye over the top to start at the beginning of the paragraph. Don’t get rid of this!
-Many of my other comments were going to discuss the quotes, but since you haven’t finished, I will give you the benefit of the doubt. You can do this!!!!!!

Hi Rachel. I completely understand your frustrations. I like your color schemes.
One suggestion that I might have is to hide the bullets in your menu list. Also (I am having this same problem so please don’t feel bad) maybe making a box in css to control your image and the caption together while allowing the narrative in the main content area wrap around the image. Also that way the caption can be a smaller text size or subtly different. Like I said I am having trouble making that happen but I think it will look nice once we figure out how to do it. I wonder if there could be an image placed in the header?
Your topic is very interesting and I look forward to seeing more. Hope this helps.
